Commissioner Brown called the meeting of the Hancock County Commissioners to order at 1:36 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 with Commissioners Lawson and Joy in attendance.
MOTION: to enter into executive session for the purpose of conducting financial manager interviews. (Lawson/Joy 3-0, motion passed)
3:10 p.m.
MOTION: to come out of executive session. (Brown/Joy 3-0, motion passed)
MOTION: to offer the position of financial manager to Philip Roy of Fairfield at a salary of $49,000.00 per year, normal county benefits included. Mr. Roy’s date of hire would be January 17, 2009.
AMENDMENT: Commissioner Lawson offered a friendly amendment to the motion, and suggested offering Mr. Roy $50,000.00 per year. (Lawson/Joy 3-0, motion passed)
MOTION: to offer the position of financial manager to Philip Roy of Fairfield at a salary of $50,000.00 per year, normal county benefits included. Mr. Roy’s date of hire would be January 17, 2009. (Joy/Lawson 3-0, motion passed)
Commissioner Brown suggested dedicating one day per quarter for the sole purpose of hearing tax appeals.
